Napa Rose Reopens: A Review of the New Menu and Renovated Space (2026)

Get ready for a culinary adventure as we explore the reopening of Disneyland's Napa Rose, a dining experience like no other!

A Fine Dining Journey Awaits

Nestled within Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Napa Rose is an award-winning restaurant renowned for its seasonal delights and extensive wine collection. After a multi-month renovation, this iconic dining establishment is set to unveil a reimagined experience, marking its 25th anniversary with a bang.

We were fortunate enough to preview the renovated space and menu, and we're here to share our insights with you. Get ready for an unforgettable evening!

A Warm Welcome and a Special Experience

Upon entering Napa Rose, you'll instantly feel the warmth and elegance that define this fine dining haven. General Manager Nicholas Hockman shared a memorable insight: Napa Rose is often a guest's first foray into the world of fine dining, and the team strives to create a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.

And they've certainly achieved that! The renovation, combined with the exceptional Cast Members, ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Even if you're new to fine dining, Napa Rose is the perfect introduction, offering a beautiful atmosphere and the renowned Disney hospitality.

The Space: A Northern Californian Delight

Inspired by the Northern Californian Arts and Crafts tradition, the newly renovated space pays homage to the colors and textures of the Napa Valley region. In the main dining room, guests can indulge in a four-course tasting menu, selecting from a variety of options for each course.

Design elements include a stunning chandelier modeled after the Mission Vine, wooden columns reminiscent of wine barrels, and a mural showcasing the vineyards of Napa Valley. The warm woods, cork, stone, and leather create a cozy and intriguing atmosphere, enhanced by architectural references to wine barrels and vineyards.

For an exclusive experience, guests can dine at the Chef's Counter, offering a unique view of the exhibition kitchen. This counter can accommodate up to 18 guests, and reservations can be made online. As part of the renovation, these counters have been expanded, providing an even more immersive culinary experience.

The newly renovated bar and lounge offer a cozy ambiance with a new bar, comfortable seating areas, and a charming fireplace. Alfresco dining is available on the renovated outdoor patio, and the lounge features a separate à la carte menu, including small plates, caviar service, seafood preparations, and charcuterie, all designed to complement the wine and cocktail programs.

The Menu: A Seasonal Delight

Napa Rose has reimagined its cocktail menu, emphasizing the kitchen's seasonal and ingredient-driven philosophy. Nearly all components are prepared in-house, including tinctures, syrups, cordials, infused spirits, and garnishes. Each cocktail is inspired by California's history, agriculture, and regional landmarks, offering a unique and exciting drinking experience.

The wine program is equally impressive, boasting one of the most extensive collections in the region, with over 13,000 bottles and approximately 1,500 labels. This collection includes iconic producers and rare selections typically found only in private cellars.

Now, let's dive into the delicious dishes we sampled!

We began with an amuse-bouche, a Signature Mushroom Cappuccino, which set the tone for a wonderful meal. The savory foam and rich mushroom broth were a delightful combination. This dish was a perfect palate-warmer and an unexpected favorite.

For the first course, we savored Sauteéd Seasonal Fish with lobster toast and lemon bubble. The light and flavorful fish was cooked to perfection, leaving us in awe.

The second course featured American Wagyu N.Y., thinly sliced medium rare, paired with a grape mustardo. The wagyu's mild flavor was enhanced by the vegetables, creating a harmonious blend of tastes.

Our third course was Sorpesine Pasta, served with a California Crab broth and Pacific Uni. The creamy, savory broth and tender crab meat made for a delightful combination, expertly paired with a crisp Chardonnay.

For our entrées, we indulged in two exceptional dishes. The Sustainable Fish of the Day, a Swordfish with ancient grains, black lentils, and hikaji, was tender and delicious, even impressing my boyfriend, who isn't a fish lover. He proclaimed it one of the best-tasting dishes he's ever had, a high compliment indeed!

We also enjoyed the Roasted Boneless Colorado Rack of Lamb, served with a dried fig-orange gremolata. The lamb was perfectly cooked, juicy, and tender, with a delicious demi-glace.

And for dessert, we were treated to an Elevated and Reminiscent Valhrona Chocolate Bar with a hazelnut praline. This chocolate-hazelnut cannoli was a fine dining take on a candy bar, with exciting elements that worked in perfect harmony. It was, without a doubt, one of the best desserts we've ever tasted!

Chef Andrew Sutton shared his thoughts on the reopening: "Reopening Napa Rose feels deeply personal. We've taken the time to honor the space's story while evolving into who we are today. Our menu and wine program are shaped by craftsmanship, seasonality, and an international perspective. We focus on cooking with intention, delivering a dining experience worthy of Napa Rose's place in California's culinary landscape."

The updated Napa Rose offers an incredible dining adventure, perfect for an intimate and upscale evening. While it may be on the pricier side, it's definitely worth considering for special occasions or a splurge on top-tier dining.

And Here's Where It Gets Controversial...

Do you think fine dining experiences like Napa Rose are worth the price tag? Is it a special occasion treat or an everyday indulgence? Share your thoughts in the comments! We'd love to hear your opinions on this luxurious dining adventure.
